About Me

My Music Journey

Playing the harp is something I have known I wanted to do since I was a child. The harp is not an easy instrument to get started on, so I was lucky to have a family that made this dream come true. I started taking lessons at age 9, and have played ever since….
My love for this instrument made deciding “what I wanted to do when I grew up” very easy. I went straight to music school. I earned a Bachelor of Music degree in harp performance, and during that time, I decided to expand my music career and started studying conducting.
After undergrad, I earned a Master of Music degree in orchestral conducting, while still playing harp with the university orchestra and other local orchestras. After grad school, I began teaching at a university, directing the orchestra and teaching music classes. As my conducting career started expanding, I continued playing the harp for orchestras wherever I have lived: Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, and Texas.
Currently, I am a doctoral student at the University of North Texas, working on a degree in orchestral conducting, with a focus in harp performance. Being able to have a dynamic music career, combining my passion for the harp and my love for the orchestra, is something I am so grateful for.
I remain involved with the harp in other ways as well: Each summer, I teach at the Elyrica Harp Program in Connecticut and at UNT, I am part of the UNT HarpBeats Ensemble, and I am excited to be preparing to perform with them in Toronto this summer, at One World Harp.
I absolutely love playing for weddings and events. Getting to share music on the most beautiful instrument is such a joy, and having the opportunity to add a little sparkle to the biggest day of someone’s life is such an honor.
Just About Me
Outside of music, I love being outdoors; hiking, camping, kayaking, you name it. I'm obsessed with house plants, I love to read, embroider, travel, and drink severe amounts of coffee and tea.
